Our Story
The origins of Proquiel Químicos date back to 1985 when its founder and CEO Eduardo Latorre, created the company in order to sell chemicals to retail consumers.
With hard work and perseverance the company grew and in the mid-eighties it began to produce chemical products for the textile industry.
In 1994 Proquiel Químicos underwent an important growth beginning by importing acetic acid from Mexico, a market which, in Chile, was dominated by our competition. From that moment on we focused on importing and distributing chemical products.
In the year 2000 the company acquired its current premises, which include the headquarters in Maipu. It was a period of consolidation in which we began to receive foreign providers.
This consolidation has allowed Proquiel Químicos to continue to grow steadily. In 2007 the Puerto Montt branch was opened, in 2013 Coronel branch was inaugurated and in 2014 the 5th region’s distribution centre in Leyda-San Antonio. Currently we are building new installations in Antofogasta thus completing nationwide coverage in all the major hubs of the country
